In 1832, the French BiKeXi invented the wind-up dc generator, its principle is by changing permanent magnet flux changes and electromotive force is induced in the coil, and the electromotive force in the form of a dc voltage output;

In 1866, Siemens of Germany invented self-excited dc generators.

In 1869, gramm of Belgium made a circular armature and invented a circular armature generator. This kind of generator USES water power to rotate the rotor of the generator. After repeated improvement, the output power of 3.2kw was obtained in 1847.

In 1882, Gordon of the United States produced a 447KW, 3-meter-high, 22-ton, two-phase giant generator with an output power of 447KW.

In 1896, tesla's two-phase alternator began working at the nyala power plant, sending 3750KW, 5000V of alternating current to buffalo, 40 kilometers away.

Westinghouse built a power plant in Oregon in 1889 and successfully sent 15,000 volts to pittsfield in 1892.
